Wow! Great story M-bird! I guess we're the luckiest people around! The Plantage part sounds like a lot of fun, good you could be there! Last week I've also been to Amsterdam again, to see Nederlands for the second time. I had told some friends about it and they wanted to see it too and I didnt mind seeing it again, probably for the last time ever. Before Nederlands they showed the news reel from the premiere of the Nuns Story again, but not the trailers they had showed when I saw Nederlands for the first time, so my friends were a little disappointed. But they liked Nederlands a lot, although they said it showed Holland as a very boring country. Which it probably was, 50 years ago, and maybe still is... Behind me I could hear people talk who recognised all the parts of old Amsterdam they saw in the movie. Usually I dont like people talking during a movie, but this added to the nostalgic mood. During the scene with the two kids having a sweet dutch breakfast, for those who've seen it, I heard the man behind me say "That's me!". Someone who played in an Audrey Hepburn movie was sitting behind me! He'll probably didnt meet her, but he can claim to have played in a movie with Audrey Hepburn! And no, I didnt ask for his autograph. Before the movie we had visited the exibition again, the fourth time for me and I think the last time. So, one more last look at the posters, the pictures and the pink dress... I also took pictures, which wasnt allowed of course, but I did it anyway and I'll post them soon, so you can all see what was there. Finally: the program was supposed to end tomorrow, but probably because a lot of the popular movies were sold out, they will play some more Audrey movies this week. So maybe, just one more time to Amsterdam...
ps: "Varjak has told us everything about it before. She was very accurate and precise." M-bird, as you can see in BaT: Varjak is a MAN! _________________ Ignore reality - there's nothing you can do about it...

Great story, Varjak! You saw NI7L 2 times. And you went to the exhibition 4 times. Lucky you. Coming Wednesday is the last day of the exhibition. It could be the last time. I don't know. I've memorized everything I saw that day. Great that you made pictures. I can't wait to see them. The Filmmuseum has extended the Audrey Hepburn retrospective. Maybe I'll go again. I haven't seen BaT yet. Maybe we can meet. Just send me a PM or a reply.
My apologizes for thinking you were a girl. I should have known better. I shall edit my post immediately. Maybe I was misled by your avatar or the fact that you could stand looking at the Givenchy outfits forever. As a matter of fact me too. They were very beautiful. _________________ "In every movie I have ever watched, starting with Roman Holiday, I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. I played every part. I liked the Givenchy outfits because I could imagine Audrey wearing them, not me myself!! If I'm interested in fashion, it's mostly because of the beautiful women wearing it!!
And I could change my avatar to George Peppard, but of course I do prefer smiling Audrey to look at!
Maybe I can go once more this weekend, I'll have to check what's playing. And I'm pretty broke, after all my trips to Amsterdam, my latest Amazon delivery (at last: the Children's hour and some others I already owned on video) and the vintage magazine... Oh and of course the original signed picture of Audrey, earlier this year... _________________ Ignore reality - there's nothing you can do about it...

When I looked at the Givenchy outfits, I was imagining Audrey wearing them. The Givenchy outfits looked more beautiful when she wore them.
I’m searching also for an avatar with Audrey smiling. For now, I use this one with her and Gregory.
Anyway,I think I'm going to call tomorrow, actually today because it's already midnight, exactly at 9 am. To make reservations for next Tuesday, for Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Darn! What a pity. Maybe you can go Wednesday. That's the last time they will show Roman Holiday. You may have lucky.

Audrey looks astounding at the Ascot race and breathtaking when she’s at the Embassy ball. Eliza was very funny. Especially the way she talks and when she’s very mad at Higgins. He was very harsh on Eliza. But deep inside of him there is still something good. Thanks to Eliza, he gets through and finds himself. This is why I also love the song “I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face”.
Thanks for the post. You really captured the excitement and awe you felt at the event. I agree with what you write about henry higgins, and I also like the song "accustomed to her face." i also really like :"how long has this been going on" and the dance that audrey does in the bookstore while singin the song. And yes, Dick Avery's dance of the bullfight in the courtyard was terrific...him aiming that umbrella right into the dust bin, or whatever it was!!! For an old guy, he could still dance, dance, dance...!
thanks so much for the post...it was S'wonderful...
