For all the lucky people in Holland or anybody over there who will make a visit to Holland this summer:
The Amsterdam film museum has planned a special Audrey Hepburn programm because of her 75th birthday. They're showing all her movies, including all the really old stuff I've never seen before. There's also a presentation of other Audrey items: posters, dolls and 7 dresses designed by Hubert de Givenchy for Audrey, one of them is the pink cocktaildress from BaT! For more info (in dutch) www.filmmuseum.nl
See you in Amsterdam!!

Excellent. They are showing Nederlands in zeven lessen (the short version) and Monte Carlo Baby - i haven't seen either of those! Not to mention those Givenchy dresses.

I wish I could go. I have never been to any Audrey museum and Amsterdam is not that far from me but I have to study this summer and probably won't be able to make it since it closes in September already Sad

I would especially love to see the Givenchy dresses as the pink dress is one of my favourites. I think each of the dresses and coats and outfits that Givenchy made to Audrey are like small pieces of art. Have you ever dreamt of wearing one? I love the cut and the necklines...it is nice to dream Smile

Hi Marianne! Of course I'll let you all know what they are showing at the Filmmuseum and I'll try to make some pictures as well. I don't know when I'm going, Amsterdam is about 150 km from my place, but I guess I'll go several times to see all the unknown movies. Very Happy And I'm really excited about the dresses and other personal things: not much closer you can get to Audrey now, I think. By the way: I love your avatar, its the same picture I have hanging in my livingroom: with original autograph! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy I'm so happy everytime I look at it, she's so beautiful!!
ps: Danmark is not so far! Wink If you do have time to come to Amsterdam, let me know!

Where did you get the poster...with an autograph? That is very nice. I like the picture too...that is why I chose it as my avatar Laughing I will let you know if I make it to Amsterdam. It would be really nice to go but I doubt I have the time. I read on the official Audrey webpage that there is an exhibit in Japan that will move to Europe and the US in about two years. I wonder what that exhibit shows and which cities it will tour in Europe. The Netherlands is a lovely country and just like the Danes you enjoy biking Very Happy
Are you familiar with the saying I quoted, the Dutch saying. I found it in the How to be Lovely book and liked it right away. It is life in a nutshell.

I got it from Kotte autographs in Germany: www.kotte-autographs.com
At www.historyforsale.com they also sell original autographs, but Kotte is a lot cheaper. Rolling Eyes I already had another original signed picture of Audrey, but when I saw this one... I just had to have it! Very Happy So now I've got two! My friends think I'm crazy, but I'm sure you'll understand! Wink
I've been thinking about the Dutch saying you quoted, but I'm not sure... Confused I cannot think of the Dutch translation... but Audrey was right, that's how life goes... Oh, and I didnt know the Danes liked cycling that much! I have a bike but its old and no good, but I dont have money left to buy me a new one!! Laughing

Thanx Jackie! I too liked her look in the distance and not paying attention to the camera pointed at her. On the full picture you can see she's taking pictures herself, for a change! I got the picture from the third gallery of Anna's AH site: www.geocities.com/aeng_us/annasframes.html
And there you can find more pictures of Audrey when she was filming the Nuns Story. She's sooo pretty on these pictures, wearing her cute hat against the burning sun. Cool These are really some of my favourite Audrey pictures! And dont forget to have a look at the old magazine articles on Anna's site, with a lot of pictures!

I have the opportunity to go to at least one of these movies at the museum in Amsterdam. Below you'll find a list of films they will show at the museum. What movie(s) will/would you go to if you have/had the chance? I think it's great to see these films at the theatre. You can have them on DVD, but it's not the same as at the theatre. Will they show they these movies at the theatre ever again in the future or not? I know there are theatres that show classic films, but you have to know where and when. What do you think? Smile

All of us non-Amsterdamians are drooling at the list!

i would go to any except bloodline, robin & marion, and they all laughed

if i could pick one, it would be Monte Carlo Baby (Nous irons a Monte-Carlo) (1952)
